Xingda opens first overseas manufacturing plant

Xingda, a leading supplier of steel reinforcing solutions for applications in rubber and tyre industry, inaugurated its first overseas manufacturing plant in Chonburi, Thailand.

“This is a new starting point for Xingda,” said Liu Xiang, General Manager of Xingda. “Xingda Steel Cord (Thailand) Co., Ltd is integral to our strategy of globalisation and proves our commitment to better serve our valued customers in the global steel cord market. Our overseas business has grown strongly during recent years, and now the Xingda Thailand plant will make us even more competitive and bring us enormous growth opportunities in the global market.”

With a designed annual capacity of 100,000 tonnes, The Xingda Thailand plant will produce steel cord products used in the tires of passenger cars, commercial trucks, and urban buses. Located in Siracha County, Chonburi, it can provide fast and flexible delivery of high-quality steel cord products to the local tyre makers in Thailand. It also meets the market demands of countries from South East Asia and South Asia and the global market.

By incorporating the latest-generation manufacturing facilities as well as the state-of-art process technologies, the Xingda Thailand plant will serve as the benchmark of Xingda steel cord manufacturing. As the first overseas steel cord manufacturing plant owned and operated by a Chinese parent, automation and intelligent manufacturing are the two most striking characteristics of this brand-new plant.

“The Thailand plant is our first plant outside China, but definitely not the last. It will enable us to gain tremendous amount of experience of running a factory in another country, and this will pave the way for our further global expansion.” Said Liu Jinlan, Chairman of Xingda.
