The fifth edition of Asian Tyre and Rubber Conference (ATRC) 2019 set a record in the number of participants in an industry event of this kind in Asia. With over 250 participants, the conference turned out to be the biggest in its history. The theme of the conference, “Automation Technology: Future Reality in Manufacturing,” was the key that attracted such a huge response.

Tom Thomas, Executive Director, Technology and Projects, CEAT Tyres, was the Chairman of ATRC. While delivering the concluding remarks on June 21, 2019 at Hyat Regency in Chennai, India, he underlined the selection of the theme and the quality of speakers and papers that the theme attracted.

The response from the participants was unanimous in applauding ATRC 2019 as another excellently organized event that focused as much on the speakers and presentations as on the way the two-day time was scheduled so as to give the delegates, speakers and dignitaries quality opportunity to meet each other, network, share ideas and talk business – apart from having a jolly good time.

Anant Goenka, Managing Director of CEAT Tyres, inaugurated the two-day conference on June 20, 2019. Organized by Tyre Asia magazine from Asian Business Media (ABM), ATRC 2019 had six Technical Sessions on two days chaired by industry veterans and papers presented by global experts in the field.

The first Technical Session was on “Digital Manufacturing Industry 4.0’. The session will be chaired by PK Mohamed, Chief Advisor, Apollo Tyres, India. Veterans from the leading automobile manufacturers also were part of the event. All the Technical Sessions were highly interactive.
