Han-Jun Kim to lead Hankook Europe
Hankook Tire has appointed Han-Jun Kim as the new president and Chief Operation Officer (COO) for Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries. He succeeds Ho-Youl Pae, who has been serving the position since 2014. A Post Graduate in Business Administration and German Studies and Literature from Yonsei University Korea, Han joined Hankook in 2011 as Vice President Corporate Management and most recently served as senior vice president of Corporate Management at Hankook Tire’s Global Headquarters in Seoul, South Korea. He started his career at Hyosung Corporation and was with MAN Truck & Bus Group for nine years before joining Hankook.
“Hankook has developed strongly in this region especially over the last decade and taken a holistic approach to tyre development and production in Europe. The challenge in the coming years is to further grow our brand awareness, brand presence and image in Europe to help to achieve our global goal of establishing Hankook as a global premium brand as well as placing our company among the leading global tyre companies in the midterm,” said Han-Jun Kim.
Hankook in a press statement said that Ho-Youl Pae was instrumental in the establishment of the third expansion phase of a state-of-the-art tyre production in Hungary and the opening of winter tyre testing facility in Lapland, Finland.
