GRI expands Agriculture Tyre range

Prabhash Subasinghe, Managing Director

GRI is a leading producer of Specialty tyres from Sri Lanka with offices in six countries and sales in over 50 countries around the world. GRI produces high-performance Agriculture, Construction and Material Handling tyres. GRI’s state-of-the-art factory of 100,000 sq. feet, with an output capacity comprising of approximately 70% of Agriculture tyre products and 30% pneumatic construction tyres and forklift tyres, is the largest in Sri Lanka to produce specialty tyres and the first to produce radial agriculture tyres.
Technological innovation, engineering strength and operational excellence have powered GRI with rapid growth to become a leader in specialty tyres. Research and Development drives continuous advancement at GRI, as GRI spotlights its latest specialty Agriculture tyres to hit the market.
GRI launched their high-value Radial range of Tractor tyres, in April 2018, namely the GREEN XLR 70 and 85 series; GRI’s combination of radial technology, special compound, tread design, strong carcass and impact ply proves to deliver a longer service life with high resistance against wear and cuts. The innovative tread structure and wide footprint achieves less sinking on soft surfaces, allowing minimum soil compaction and excellent farm productivity.
Following the Radials, GRI launched their range of Bias tyres on the 28th August 2018, for effective use on applications such as Flotation, Tractor and Rib Implements.
GREEN EX FL700, a high traction general purpose flotation tyre with a wide, round tread design and heavy load capacity at low inflation pressure reduces soil compaction, while its high tread depth and special compound provides superior field traction and promotes long wear.

Specialized for on and off-road use, the GREEN EX RT100 Bias Tractor tyre’s tie bar design provides hard surface lug stability, its dual angle design provides all around capabilities. The 45° bar angle middle to center promotes traction on sloped surfaces while the shoulder bar angle enhances flat surface traction.
The raised center ribs and optimum angled crisscross grooves of the GREEN EX RIB3 Implement tyre increases road wear. The strong nylon carcass construction and cut/wear resistant compounds increase productivity, while its shock-fortified nylon-cord body resists stubble damage.
“tyres are the only link between the terrain and the application,” says Dr Ranasoma, CEO GRI. “These tyres establish our technical leadership in the agricultural industry and our promise to support our customers by providing the best solutions for their challenges on and off the field.” GRI’s aim is to equip today’s robust, technically-advanced machines with tyres that will improve agronomic efficiency with assured operational performance, while protecting the soil and reducing fuel consumption.
In an ever changing, complex and uncertain world, we rise to the challenge. We understand the importance and implications of major technological shifts in our industry – the prevalence of IOT [Internet of Things], the opportunity that machine learning or AI [Artificial Intelligence], Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality can provide in making better decisions. “We are now well into establishing an innovation lab that will harness many of these technologies to drive our business forward. This new frontier is something that I am deeply interested and passionate about”, Mr. Subasinghe, Managing Director GRI, asserted.

GRI has risen to the ranks of a world class company by growing their company with strong business partnerships, broad global outreach, continued manufacturing innovation and by developing an extremely compelling product portfolio. A track record of quality and innovation have made GRI’s brands our customer’s top choice. With quality, value and a pioneering spirit at its core, GRI joins the elite league of global specialty tyre producers.
