This global retailer has big South-East Asian dreams

French tyre and automotive service retailing group Point S has big dreams for South-East Asia, one of the growing automotive markets globally. In line with this, it has opened its flagship store in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. In October 2017, Point S opened its first store in Asia in the same city.

Adrian Smiechowski, Business Development Director of Point S Development said that the company is in discussion with multiple countries in Asia, and expect an exciting year in 2018 for Asia.

The new store in 20,000 sqft area has eight service bays, a 3,000 sqft showroom with a Pirelli Performance Centre, a BFGoodrich corner and a parking area for 20 cars. The store will provide tyres, wheels, batteries, auto lubricant change service, quick fit and parts services.

Point S will have a partnership with Gocar Malaysia, a car rental service provider and Grab Malaysia, the competitor of Uber in South East Asia, in this location for the convenience of customers.

“We are now planning for an outlet in East Malaysia, and expect to have at least 15 branded locations in Malaysia by the end of 2018. We look forward to pushing this fury pace to build Malaysia’s largest independent tyre retailing chain,” said Tai Qisheng, Director, Point S Malaysia, and Deputy CEO, GIIB Group.
