Cooper Zeon RS3-G1 bags 2016 GOOD DESIGN Award
Cooper Tire’s Zeon RS3-G1 has bagged a 2016 GOOD DESIGN Award from The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and the European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies for its design excellence. The Cooper Zeon RS3-G1 was selected from several thousand entries from more than 55 countries.
The GOOD DESIGN Award is one of the world’s most longest-standing design award programs recognising new consumer products designed and manufactured in Europe, Asia, Africa, and North and South America. The award is based on criteria including innovative design, new technologies, form, materials, construction, concept, function, utility, energy efficiency, and sensitivity to the environment.
“The Cooper Zeon RS3-G1 is a breakthrough tyre in the ultra-high performance category, with innovations that deliver incredible grip, holding the road at up to 1g in tight corners—a marvel of cutting edge technology for an all-season tyre,” said Scott Jamieson, Cooper’s Director of Product Management for North America.

The Cooper Zeon RS3-G1 is a new all-season passenger car tyre for high performance vehicles and drivers. Alongside a sleek race-inspired sidewall, the tyre’s tread compound and design deliver a host of leading innovative features to create grip, stability and durability. Whether drivers are on dry pavement, wet pavement or even in light snow conditions, the Cooper Zeon RS3-G1 is truly an all-season tire with performance worthy of the high performance tyre category. The tire has been designed with more rubber on the outside shoulder and intermediate rib to grip and provide stability during cornering maneuvers and to reduce tyre noise. The Cooper Zeon RS3-G1 also provides longer-lasting biting edges due to its 3D fulldepth sipes, which go deep into the tread elements. The sipes help the tire tread blocks maintain a stable shape during acceleration, braking and cornering. The full-depth aspect of the sipes means that even when the tire is half-worn, there are still sipes to provide biting edges for consistent performance.
