ACTEN’S NEW TREAD LINEAR PLANT STARTS OPERATION
Rubber and tyre machinery provider Acten has expanded production capacity by moving from its existing facility to new premises in Senawang, Malaysia, and investing in a range of new, hi-tech equipment designed to optimise product life cycle. It has allowed Acten to expand its product and service value chain.
Sitting on a 1.5-acre site, the new plant boasts of advanced equipment that was developed by Acten Engineering and its collaboration partners in Taiwan and China. It has the capacity to produce up to 150 tonnes per month.
“We started planning for this new plant, which operated under the name Acten Rubber Technology Sdn Bhd, in July 2013. The first stage of construction kickedoffin August and the plant was ready by February this year. We then moved the machinery and equipment to the factory, began the commissioning and achieved stable production in April,” said Stefanie Aw of Acten Group.
Acten Group began operations as Acten Engineering, which was established in 1999 and specialised in machinery design, manufacturing, modification, installation and consultation for the rubber industry. It was also well known for the transfer of technical know-how in formulation design, mixing techniques, on-site training and quality control.
“We have a strong foundation in engineering. Over the years, we have grown rapidly and today we are a group that comprises 4 companies – Acten Engineering, Acten Marketing, Acten Tyre Technology and the newly set-up Acten Rubber Technology.”
