Halo, the electric head-turner
Mahindra & Mahindra’s all-electric sports car concept Halo stole the show at the 12th Indian Auto Expo. Electric cars made a debut at the Expo this year. Halo flows in looks and is powered by an electric motor, driving up around 140bhp and hits 0-100km in less than eight seconds, M&M claims.
The two-door and two-seater would prove the concept wrong that electric cars cannot have power and performance if the claims are met when the car hits the markets.
The company intends to launch the car in India over the next three years, but it will hit overseas first, seeing the popularity of electric cars in the western markets, adds the company.
Halo’s top speed is 160 kmph with a range of 200km on full recharge and it can be fully charged in one hour. Of course, the car would be armed with advanced safety features, high end connectivity and dual touch screen infotainment system.
