Yokohama to launch new tyres Europe and Asia
Japanese tyre maker Yokohama Rubber Co will launch of new tyres for the European market as winter is coming soon and a fuel-efficient tyre for Europe and Asia.
Yokohama will launch a new studded tyre, “iceGUARD Stud iG55, for passenger car vehicles in the northern Europe and Russian markets ahead of the 2014 autumn/winter snowy season. The tyres, which will be available in sizes from 13 inch to 20 inch, will improve tyre performance on icy surface while improving stud retention.
The tyre’s development was based on a complete revision of the tread pattern, stud shape, and tyre compound. The new tread pattern maximizes the tyre’s contact with the road surface and enhances the edging effect, said the company.
The company will also sell a new winter passenger car tyre, W*drive V905, across the European continent. The W*drive V905 is a successor to the popular “W*drive V902A/B” and will be available in sizes from 15 inch to 18 inch.
The “W*drive V902A/B tyre is the company’s conventional tyre and it has been core tyres for overseas markets, especially Europe, since it was introduced in 2007 as the winter tyre in the YOKOHAMA “.drive” series.
Yokohama will also introduce a new edition of its fuel-efficient, BLuEarth, tyre for passenger cars in Europe and Asia from this spring.
